      Some robots have a microprocessor on them that has programs and routines saved (the robots operate autonomously).
      Althernatively, they can be tele-operated by another device. For example, I have a robotic hand-exoskeleton that you can wear and which then tracks the motion of your hand; next we send this information (via a computer) to another robotic hand and therefore this robotic hand can imitate what your hand is doing.
