They do look fun but only when we resolve the security and privacy issue with the use of drones first.

I imagine they will be used for delivery, and for things like search and rescue (I imagine the military will have some uses for them as well, not that I am a fan). Like Charnett said, security and privacy are big issues around drones, and they need to be solved before we start using them on a big scale.

There are so many applications for drones that I cannot even start listing them. One of my favourite is monitoring of forest fires or even volcanoes. They have also used them in radioactive zones such as Chernobyl.

Variety of things; modern warfare, security, humanitarian aid, emergency services, factories of the future and modern cities.

(doesn’t this all just get you excited?!)

I agree that there are security concerns regarding them at the moment as well as who should be allowed to pilot them etc. but the scope they could be used for such as for humanitarian aid, explorering areas not possible by human without a negative effect on the enviroment the possibilities are endless.
