The pay is quite good. Beginner engineer would earn about 30,000 pounds per year. Highly skilled engineer would earn 50,000. And that is just in Leeds, while in London it would be much more.

It’s good. I have always had enough to look after myself and do all the things I like to do.

It is generally a well paid profession. The salary varies between different jobs and countries – in companies the salary tends to be higher than in the university (of course depends on how junior or senior you are), but you have other benefits to balance this out.
Even as a PhD student I had enough to do everything I wanted and be comfortable.

Alright actually, I’m living well in London and it’s so expensive here.
As a research engineer I earn around £35,000

I’m a PhD student, so I don’t get paid much. It should be worth it later though!
